The best "ice cream" you will every eat

Guilt-Free “Ice Cream"

I found recipe online, on http://thenotquitevegan.wordpress.com/, and found the concept of Guilt free ice cream to be a great one because ice cream is always associated with Summer and eating it or a lot of it is unhealthy and can make you add unwanted pounds.

The recipe doesn't call for any sugar, nor is it made from dairy so it's safe for anyone that's lactose intolerant. The recipe gives you the freedom to experiment with different flavors to surprise your taste buds that will keep you wanting more.

The key to the recipe is frozen bananas because when you blend it in a food processor it will have a very similar texture to soft serve ice cream.

You will need a food processor or a very powerful blender to smoothen out the banana.

This is just a basic recipe for Banana “ice cream”:

*3-4 bananas sliced & frozen
(Make sure you slice it before freezing)
*1 TP of peanut butter
(Not chunky because it will disrupt the ice cream consistency)
*2-3 tsp cocoa powder

Put your bananas into the food processor, and blend:

At first, it will look grainy so keep blending:

Occasionally, you will have to stop blending and push the banana down with a spatula. Be patient because it will take some time for the banana to smoothen. You will notice after a while it will smoothen from the bottom and it will continue to the top. In the middle you will continue to see some frozen pieces that will take longer to smoothen. Stop the food processor and push it down or take it out and break it up to speed up the process:

Once it's completely smooth, add your flavor:

Here's the finished product:

This recipe is perfect for peanut butter & chocolate lovers but remember that you can always change the ingredients to create new flavors. You can also make a sorbet by adding fresh fruit, like raspberries or strawberries, coconut, you can also use chocolate syrup instead of cocoa powder. Use your imagination to surprise your taste buds and impress your friends with this ice cream surprise.

The result is a fat free, guilt free, smooth and creamy soft-serve like ice cream treat. If you want hard ice cream place the finish product in the freezer for 1-2 hours to harden.
